Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of engaging events for members, including educational, social, and networking opportunities (both in-person and online). Manages all event logistics, speaker coordination, venue and supplier negotiations, and event budgets. Collaborates with the Marketing & Advertising Specialist on partnership and sponsorship activities.

CPHR Nova Scotia collaborates closely with other CPHR provinces, particularly in the Atlantic Region. With over 1100 members across Nova Scotia, we are the granting body of the national Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and a proud member association of CPHR Canada.
Experience:
Marketing and event coordination – two years or not-for-profit (Association) experience (Preferred)
Computer Skills:
- MS Word: Basic (Preferred)
- MS Excel: Basic (Preferred)
- MS PowerPoint: Intermediate (Required)
- Internal policy database system (e.g., YourMembership): Basic (Preferred)
Communication Skills:
Oral: Intermediate
Written: Intermediate

Start Date and Compensation:
The start date is negotiable, but no later than October 27, 2025.
Compensation ranges from $47,000 to $52,000 annually, plus over $4,000 in employer-paid benefits and RRSPs.

Major Responsibilities
List of key deliverables:
- Deliver a variety of engaging events that have significant value for various members (educational, social, networking, in-person, and online)
- Secure a variety of talented paid and unpaid speakers to deliver on a variety of topics
- Lead the team through a very large annual conference and law conference projects
- Responsible for negotiating contracts for venues, AV, catering, and other suppliers; budget management, guest room services, and social events
- Secure industry partnership events and programs that would benefit the Association and its members
- Lead the event and program marketing efforts online, in print, and at events
- Contribute to the Social Media Strategy, particularly for events and programs
- Facilitate NS and other CPHR provinces' webinars
