The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s employee and labour relations, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies, practices, and employment laws. This role manages a team of Human Resource professionals, providing strategic guidance on complex employee matters, workplace investigations, and labour relations issues. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, the Manager, Employee Relations supports leaders as a trusted partner, taking a proactive approach to handle employee concerns and reduce risks, while helping create a positive and inclusive workplace.

As an Employee Relations Manager you will:
Execute employee & labour relations strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
Provide expert consultation on complex employee issues (performance management, discipline, terminations, accommodations, workplace conflict, harassment, etc.)
Oversee or where necessary, lead complex or sensitive workplace investigations and recommend appropriate actions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing strategic guidance and support.
Collaborate with HR leaders and team members to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to client service delivery.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals by establishing performance goals, providing ongoing coaching, and supporting development opportunities.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
5-8 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on Employee and/or Labour Relations
1-3 years of people leadership experience
CPHR designation is considered an asset.
Experience working in unionized environments would be considered an asset
Strong business acumen
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders
Exceptional communication skills
Sound judgement and decision-making skills
